Rates & Insurance
As of 2022, psychological service fees has increased to $220 per 60 minutes of service, consistent with the recommended rate set by the Psychologists Association of Alberta
RATES
Psychological counselling sessions are billed in 45-50 minute increments.
Based on appropriateness, if additional session time is required, session time is billed in 15 minute increments. Such appointments require advanced scheduling..
Psychological assessments are billed by the number of hours required for interview, review of clinical information, psychological testing, time required for collateral contacts, writing the report, and debriefing of the report.

Insurance
Insurance providers and many extended medical plans cover therapy sessions with a Registered Psychologist in Alberta. You may be covered directly or through a health spending account. Please check with your provider.
Some third party insurance companies known to CAP (College of Alberta Psychologists):
- Greenshield,
- Blue Cross,
- SunLife,
- Manulife and
- Equitable Life.
Reduced Fee/Sliding Scale
Reduced fee services and sliding scales are available on a limited basis.
Payment
Cash, cheque, and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.
Payments are made at the end of each counselling session.
Upon receiving your payment, we will immediately provide you a receipt. Please retain your receipt for insurance purposes and it is tax deductible. We accept cash, e-transfers, and personal cheques. A $25 charge is billed for returned cheques. We welcome third-party payments when arrangements are made in advance.
Estimates for psychological assessments are provided during the initial consult. A retainer may be required at your first psychological assessment appointment. Invoices for assessments will be provided at the debriefing appointment upon completion of the assessment. At this time, the balance owing will be due.

Cancellation/No show policy
If an appointment is not cancelled within the notice period, the time will be billed at the sesison time reserved. Please note, most insurance companies do not generally reimburse the cost of such late cancelled or missed appointments and therefore the invoice will be your responsibility. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in the this process.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
A full-session fee is charged both for missed appointments and for cancellations with less than 24-hour notice

Insurance
Psychological services are covered through a variety of benefit plans and may have the option of direct billing. You may have insurance coverage through your Employee Extended Benefits Plan, private insurance plan, or through Employee Assistance Programs. Some third party insurance companies known to CAP (College of Alberta Psychologists):

Payment
